Karpathos is comprised of 10 major villages with an approximate population of 6,000 residents. All villages preserve intensively the traditional/historic lifestyles of days past while modern amenities are incorporated in a subtle manner. The end result is an island which maintains its historical roots while being a major competitor and contributor to Greece's tourist industry.
